James
 is a Gold Legacy Life Member of the Greater (Jacksonville) Beaches VFW 
Post 3270, and is a US Navy Veteran, retiring as a Gas Turbine Systems 
Technician Senior Chief. He joined the VFW in 2009 and earned his eligibility while deployed on the destroyers USS David R. Ray (DD 971) and USS John Hancock (DD 981). He also served at Fleet Training Group Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, and Shore Intermediate Maintenance Activity Mayport.
 
He
 has served the VFW as the Department of Florida, District 6 Commander 
in 2020-21, receiving All-American District Honors; Post 3270 Commander,
 Senior Vice Commander, Quartermaster, and Trustee, and as the Florida 
District 6 Senior Vice Commander, Junior Vice Commander, and Surgeon. He
 has been recognized as a VFW National Aide-de-Camp and National Chief 
of Staff.
 
Him
 and his wife, Dee, a VFW Auxiliary Member, live in Ponte Vedra, FL. He 
is also a member of American Legion Post 233. He is a small business 
owner, running Quality Maintenance of Ponte Vedra.
