JP is a disabled Veteran and was a Non-Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Army. He joined the VFW in 1991; joining VFW Post 6602 in Hinesvile Ga, becoming a Cootie before departing for Germany. He earned his VFW eligibility by earning the Southwest Asia Service medal with 3 Bronze Service Stars and the Combat Infantry Badge during Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm and Vigilant Warrior. He is also the VFW Dept. of Florida, District Six Veteran Service Officer, and has served VFW Post 3270 as the Senior Vice Commander and Service Officer. He was recognized by the VFW Commander in Chief as a National Aide-De-Camp for the 2021-22 year.
